Coffee for a Month Birthday Book

One of my mom's friends just celebrated a birthday and was looking for something unique to give her since she has EVERYTHING. She came up with a great idea that I was able to turn into a {great ;-)} project!

I used the same process to make this Coffee for a Month book as I did to make these Birthday Card books forever ago.

There are 5 pages and each is listed with a day of the week. The green color is hard to see here, but in real life it pops! She put enough money to buy coffee for 4 Mondays in this pocket. She then did the same with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday... a month of coffee money!

Since the back of each page has a pocket too, I made little tags that will pull out. On each tag my mom wrote a special quote, memory, or thought to share with her BFF. This way as she flips through the book she'll have something to make her smile.

You can see with having only five pages the book isn't thick at all! I love that. I used the 1" cinch binding in red and tied it up with cute ribbon that matches the birthday themed paper. I (of course!) used my new Cricut Explore to cut the word "coffee," the phrase "love you a latte" and my very own favorite KB font welded to write each day of the week.

Tweet Memories Birthday Card Book

I decided to play with the Heidi Grace "Tweet Memories" paper until I became sick of it (which happened around the time I realized I punched the holes in the book backwards and had to re-do it, I think). It has taken a few days, but I finally finished my birthday card book along with 12 cards. The only part I really don't like about making these books is that my rings (2" on the Cinch) aren't quite big enough to make the book close well when full of cards. I wish I could find a better binding for them.

Here's what the inside looks like. I used brown vinyl to cut the months from Designer's Calendar.

Here are the front of the cards.

Here is a peek of the inside. I used Papertrey Ink's Birthday Sentiments for the words.

Here is an example of what the page looks like. These books are super easy to make.

The envelopes were all identical.

Birthday Card Book

After visiting the new Joann's in Roanoke (Not as magnificent as I was hoping...) I decided to actually use the paper I bought from a store (shocking, I know!) I thought if I made a birthday card book (complete with cards) it would use it, since I have NO where to put it, but honestly I've still got half the pack left! I'm just too conservative with my paper usage, lol. I did take a break from my Cricut with most of this, although I used Designer's Calendar for the title and the months on each page. I cut out one flower from Home Decor, I think, and that's all. I made the book (2 pieces of chipboard and 4 sheets of paper) with 6 folder pages to hold cards (6 sheets of paper), and 12 birthday cards (scraps and 6 more sheets of paper). The only thing I don't like about this, is that the binding ring (1.25") is too small. I don't think Cinch or Bind-it-All makes anything bigger, though. :-/
