More Pretty Petals Cards

Here is another set of cards I made using Pretty Petals Cardstock Paper Pack from Hobby Lobby. Some of the embellishments I've had for ages. The stamps are from Divinity Designs (I think) and the "Count your Blessings" is a sticker from Floral Faith and Inspiration Stickers pack from HL.

More Pretty Petals Cards

I used Hobby Lobby's Pretty Petals Cardstock Pack for the background for this set of cards, and stickers from a Floral Faith and Inspiration Pack. The vellum stickers are a bit translucent so I like to stick them onto white cardstock for a crisp background.

Maybe one of these days I'll be good enough at stamping and coloring to not feel the need to loosely trace everything with a black pen. Today is obviously not that day, however!

I've had these half-cut pearls for probably 10 years and never had a use for them. My mom bought me a new glue gun for Christmas and I haven't gotten to use it much so I pulled it out and added the pearls to some old crochet flowers, which I've also had forever.

The large flower was another page in the Pretty Petals pack. I don't usually cut out paper like that as I think it typically looks too handmade (in a homespun kind of way, if that makes sense?) but I added foam stickers behind it to add some depth and thought it looked great. For all of these I outline the edges of all papers with a gold stamp pad, even the card itself. I try to always do that with my cards to add a little variety between layers.

Pretty Petals Cardstock Pack Cards: Set 1

I had a great time at Hobby Lobby the other day and bought some new paper packs. I'm going to make sets of cards with this cardstock pack as backgrounds. I'm hoping to use a fair amount of scrap embellishments I've collected over the years with the variety of colors this pack should provide.

I nearly cringed as I pulled out this bold pink paper for this set, but in going along with my plan of working outside-my-usual-box I forced myself to use it. The stickers are also from Hobby Lobby, in a pack called "Floral Faith and Inspiration". (You can see the cover of it in the background of some of the pictures.)

I've always loved this hydrangea stamp. The background cardstock has not-quite-ready hydrangeas in this green color, so I used that as my inspiration for coloring.

It's very hard to see, but I added tiny pearls on the center of each visible flower. It's very pretty in person.

Here's another variation of the same thing.

And another card with a sticker. I like the simplicity of this design.

Autumn Cards

Here are some cards I made for fall. Most are thank-you cards, as I've been in need of those recently. I used paper scraps and embellishments that I've had for ages. I'm trying to use up some of my supplies that I haven't touched in years. Most of the sentiments are from Divinity Designs.

Religious/Thinking of You/Blank-Inside Cards

Here are a few cards I made over the last few snowy/icy days. We're done with snow at the moment but not the cold temperatures. Today the high is 22, wind chill 17. (-4 this morning!)

I used Divinity Designs 'Happy Birthday' stamp for the flowering can. The paper is from DCWV's Fairytale Floral stack. I colored the stamp with Copic markers.

I used my Cricut Explore  to cut the frame for this one. The stamp is from 'Be Joyful' from Divinity Designs.

I love these 'fancy frames' dies I cut using my Cricut Cuttlebug. The quote is from 'God Quotes 2' from Divinity Designs.

I seem to go through phases of coloring well. This flower stamp is 'Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven' from JustRite Stampers and the quote is from Divinity Design's 'Scripture Collection 11.'

This stamp is from 'God Quotes 2.'

Here's another watering can from the 'Happy Birthday' set from Divinity Designs. It was a challenge to stick with colors that matched the background paper, and not that I necessarily like!

This is another one that's not quite my usual style. This scripture quote is from 'God Verses 2.' The rest was cut with my Cuttlebug.

Spring Wreaths

Today is the first day in a week or so that I've felt like crafting! I finally started taking allergy shots about a month ago, but won't expect results for awhile yet. I had a sinus infection that I pretended didn't exist over Easter Break and it turned into pink eye (I didn't know that could happen!) in both eyes. So, after a few days off work and not being able to do anything (including scratch my eyes out, which is what I wanted most!) I think I'm finally on the mend.

One of my mom's best friends celebrated her 60th birthday yesterday so I made a burlap wreath for her. I started making wreaths right before Christmas and have been exploring with various fabrics, ribbons, and types of wreaths. This one has a wire frame and some pretty forsythia flowers. It's hard to see the details, but there is a beautiful sheer yellow ribbon, and a tiny thread of green to tie in the branches. I hope she loves it!

Here is a card I made recently for my Pastor and his wife. I didn't realize the photo was a little blurry, but the stamp (from Our Daily Bread Designs) says "Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea-- the Lord on high is mighty." -Psalm 93:4. I love the background paper, its also from ODBD and fits along perfectly with this stamp set.
