A couple friends and I took a 5-week course on learning to make stained glass using the Tiffany (copper foil) method. I was SO AFRAID of using a soldering iron but it was not hard to learn. It reminds me a lot of wood-burning.
The first project I made was a birds of paradise sun catcher I gifted to my mom. :-)
Then, I made a mushroom that was ugly and I fixed it, and then I dropped and broke it. :-(
After the 5 weeks, I decided instead of paying for more classes, I would use the money to get my own materials to work at home. Because of the soldering fumes I made the garage my workshop, which has been incredibly hot in this summer weather, but fun! Here are a few of my first projects. I'm obsessed with the snowflakes!
I made this one for my mom's best friend. I used my laser to engrave John 3:16 in the middle. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but it's lovely in real life!
